Because Toronto
is a meeting place.

Produced by Small World Music (SWM), Global Toronto (GT) is more than just a marketplace: It is also a meeting place, in the tradition of the millennia of coming-together that has happened here.

With a human-centred approach, GT gathers diverse music-sector professionals and artists who are as interested in getting business done as they are in fixing a broken industry. GT works to ensure that all members of the sector are welcome and benefitting from the economic activity, while building a platform for musical discovery.

Programming and discussions are guided by our three pillars - Sustainability, Equity, and Accessibility - and strive for collaborative approaches to equitable systems, issues/barriers faced by equity-deserving populations, and to building a better music sector.

A conference experience like no other

GT is a true city-wide experience; a journey as much as an event: We showcase our city as we showcase Canadian and international artistic excellence. Working with partners across the city, activities occur at a range of venues that allow participants to engage with and experience the people and places that create our vibrant music ecosystem.

Delegates are truly participants at GT. Committed to community-based problem-solving around issues of equity, sustainability and accessibility, conference activities include Working Sessions, which tap into the experience and expertise of the collective. Meanwhile, intentionally intimate social gatherings allow delegates to create stronger business relationships at a more natural pace.

GT is produced by Small World Music, which, since 1997, has employed the power of music to celebrate diversity and bring communities together, working with and for equity-deserving, under-represented, marginalised artists, audiences, and industry players
